CHUCK-EEZ... |
CHUCK-EEZ is a heavy-duty boundary lubricant designed to increase the clamping pressure of Power Chucks.
CHUCK-EEZ is formulated (with a high percentage of molybdenum disulfide) to reduce seizing, galling, fretting wear and to prevent reduced friction under conditions of extreme pressure. It is able to withstand pressures up to 500,000 pounds per square inch. And the tacky nature of the product gives it high resistance to centrifugal force.
Rust and oxidation inhibitors are incorporated to maximize rust protection during the life of the lubricant.
HISTORY
One of the largest Power Chuck Manufacturers in the world approached SPECIALTY LUBRICANTS to develop a lubricant specifically for Power Chucks. Why the interest? Because 98% of all chuck field problems are related to poor lubrication.
Prior to CHUCK-EEZ, lithium and calcium-based greases were used in power chuck applications. Some products incorporated molybdenum or a moly assembly paste, but the extreme pressure exerted between the chuck jaws and the work piece would squeeze the moly from the base oil. The result—poor holding and/or inadequate clamping pressure.
CHUCK-EEZ solves this problem. Tests on conventional greases show these lubricants max out around 1200 psi. The same tests show CHUCK-EEZ is capable of withstanding twice the clamping pressure, holding up under 2600 psi.
